Digging for more green - following the principle of helping people to help themselves, the climate protection organization Justdiggit is supporting farmers in Africa to dig water reservoirs and thus revive degraded land areas in a relatively short time. The initiative's goal is to re-green Africa, home to more than a third of the world's degraded land, by 2030, effectively cooling our planet. The simple and clever concept to curb temperature rise encourages people worldwide to join in. A new information campaign with bestselling author Frank Schätzing as ambassador now invites people in Germany to get involved.
Not everyone has to pick up a shovel right away, but they can donate to the excavation of water reservoirs or become part of the worldwide Justdiggit movement. The simple idea of bringing nature back from the dead, mitigating global warming and supporting people in Africa at the same time has also convinced Frank Schätzing. The author of the environmental thriller "The Swarm" has been campaigning for climate protection for years. Now he's also "digging" for Justdiggit. "The idea is so simple, effective, sustainable and encouraging - it needs to be promoted. I believe that many people like and look for exactly such tangible and positive measures," explains Frank Schätzing. "Whether you combine that with donating a water storage tank or spreading the idea to friends, everyone can get involved and start now. Get involved!"
To draw attention to the work and mission of the campaign, Ströer also supports Justdiggit and provides, among other things, the public video network for the current campaign. Ströer and Justdiggit have already been cooperating since 2021 in the daily broadcast of Justdiggit's sustainable topics in the sustainability channels of the public video network. "We are convinced of Justdiggit's mission and have already provided extensive support for the initiative's previous campaigns. With our outdoor advertising media, we reach millions of people and can thus make sustainable commitment and good, tangible ideas like those of Justdiggit visible to everyone," says Alexander Stotz, CEO Ströer Media Deutschland GmbH.
Wessel von Eeden of Justdiggit says: "We want to win over many people in Germany to support our mission to mitigate global warming by 37 percent. In Frank Schätzing, we have found a fellow campaigner who is an excellent match for and shares our positive and solution-oriented message. We are very excited about this partnership and the valuable support from the advertising and media world through our partners Havas, Ströer and Harvard Engage."
