In a nationwide campaign together with Ströer, prominent UNICEF supporters are calling for children's rights in Germany to be implemented more consistently than before.
Under the motto “Living children's rights. Strengthen democracy”, actress Katja Riemann, entertainer Riccardo Simonetti, astronaut Alexander Gerst, model Franziska Knuppe, soccer world champion Julian Draxler and decathlete Leo Neugebauer make it clear how children's rights have a positive impact on society as a whole and strengthen democracy.
Their personal statements will be shown on Ströer Infoscreens on streets, at train stations, in subways and shopping centers throughout Germany around International Children's Rights Day on November 20th, 2024. UNICEF Germany and Ströer have been working together to promote children's rights since 2022. After animated superheroes (2022) and well-known TikTok stars (2023), prominent UNICEF supporters have now helped shape the new campaign.
International Children's Rights Day on November 20
November 20th is International Children's Rights Day - the day on which the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted 35 years ago. To mark the occasion, UNICEF has planned numerous campaigns in Germany and around the world. On November 20th, prominent buildings will be lit up in blue - the color of children's rights. In addition, over a quarter of a million schoolchildren are getting involved in the nationwide “You belong!” campaign. This year's children's rights campaign with prominent UNICEF supporters will also enter its second round around November 20th.
