The Greentech Festival took place in Berlin again this year. More than 11,500 festival visitors met at the former Tegel airport site from June 14 to 16. More than 160 exhibiting companies and organizations presented their new green technologies, sustainable innovations and products at Europe's largest sustainability event. In addition to the exhibition, the three days of the festival also offered an extensive conference program, with more than 1,800 speakers sharing their knowledge and efforts with festival visitors.
As a long-standing partner of the festival, Ströer was also present again this year as an exhibitor with sustainable OOH infrastructure solutions. For example, the Ströer booth featured a green bus shelter with active air filtration and an out-of-home screen with a built-in filter that also neutralizes pollutants from the air. At the booth, visitors were able to learn about greening concepts for street furniture and advertising media, the digital possibilities of urban communication and also about individual solutions.
The Ströer colleagues were pleased about numerous interested visitors and many exciting conversations. The exhibition booth was visited, among others, by Franziska Giffey, Senator for Economy, Energy and Operations. "It was a great pleasure to present Ms. Giffey our possibilities for sustainable communication in public spaces as well as our green infrastructure solutions," says Hermann Meyersick, Managing Director Ströer & Head of Public Affairs.
On the first official day of the festival, a performance by two Ukrainian soloists from the Berlin State Ballet took place at the Ströer booth. The choreography, specially composed and created for the day, highlighted the importance of strong connections for a sustainable future and attracted many visitors to the booth. Later that day, Richard Offermann, SVP Direct Client Sales, spoke about sustainable marketing on the official MAIN STAGE of the GREENTECH FESTIVAL with representatives from Meta, OMG Momentum and REWE. But that was not the only thematic deep dive: On both days of the festival, various additional panels and talks took place at the Ströer booth. Together with colleagues and experts from a wide range of fields, they discussed what more sustainable and lower-emission communication can look like and what solutions can enable resilient, environmentally friendly urban development. On both days of the festival, Catharina Enderlein also held informative discussions with representatives of NGOs such as everwave, BUND and Fridays for Future - an important opportunity to further strengthen our partnerships and gain new perspectives for our sustainable content formats.
One positive aspect was that even more young people were present at this year's GREENTECH FESTIVAL and followed the sustainable dialogs and innovations with great interest. The colleagues were particularly pleased with the positive feedback from a school class that visited and enjoyed our bus shelter with great enthusiasm.
Alexander Stotz, CEO Ströer Media Germany, reviews the sustainability fair: "As every year, the GREENTECH FESTIVAL was the perfect platform to present sustainable solutions. This year, we were particularly passionate about highlighting the possibilities of sustainable communication and CO2-efficient campaign planning. Because the media industry, and (D)OOH in particular, is also aware of its own ecological responsibility.”
