Ströer supports the ‘Freedom requires the whole picture’ campaign by Initiative 18

With its current campaign, ‘Freedom requires the whole picture’, civil society initiative 18 is campaigning for a new sustainability goal at the United Nations: free, secure and sustainable media should be included as Goal 18 in the 2030 Agenda.

The campaign focuses on iconic press photos – such as Neil Armstrong's boot print in the moon dust or the burning towers and the second plane shortly before impact on 11 September in New York. Each image shows a blank space, a missing piece of the puzzle. It symbolises what is lost when the media is restricted: information, perspectives and truths.

Ströer is supporting the initiative by displaying the campaign motifs on public video media in Berlin and Cologne. This makes the important message visible directly in public spaces – where people are on the move, discussing and looking around.

Because without free media, we are all missing a piece of the whole.
